Why Food Sensitivity Testing Is a Must

I wish I had known about food sensitivity testing years ago when I was struggling to lose weight.

I was on a 30-day diet with my husband, and our food plan was rich with proteins and vegetables. Much to my frustration, the pounds were falling off him, and I was gaining them!

It turns out much of the weight I was struggling to shed was actually inflammation. I unknowingly had a high sensitivity to my go-to snacks, eggs and almonds, and the inflammation they were causing was interfering with my body’s response to leptin—a hormone that should have been telling my brain I was no longer hungry.

Now I consider food sensitivity testing a must for all. So many people are suffering from debilitating symptoms and have no idea that the root cause is likely the food they are eating. Food sensitivity tests identify a list of foods you should avoid based on your immune system’s response to what you’ve eaten in the previous 72 hours.

There are many ways in which food sensitivity manifests itself. For example, when I eat gluten, I get a scratchy throat and bloating.

Some other common reactions are:

  • Itchy skin/rashes

  • Headaches/migraines

  • Joint pain

  • Low mood/irritability

  • Brain fog

  • Inflammation (weight gain)

  • Muscle weakness

  • Learning disabilities

  • Mystery pain & stiffness

  • Fatigue

Important note: IgG food sensitivities are very different from IgE food allergies, which can be severe and potentially life-threatening.
